2026 Season was Interesting

The 2026 season produced 3 distinct batches, all were very dark again, which I do find a bit disappointing from a color stand point, but they are all very unique from a flavor stand point. Batch 3 "Herb's Midnight Special" is one of the strongest Maple Flavored Syrups we have produced in quite a while. The weather this year included a number of unseasonably warm days (which I believe contributed to all the batches being quite dark again this year). It also included a snow storm that dropped approximately 30 inches snow on the cooking shack and caused a pause in operations for about 10 days until we could get back in the woods to gather sap. This lead to the largest amount of sap we have ever had in one batch. Batch 2 Herb's Special Dark is about twice the size of an average batch.
